23 Weeks

Here I am at 23 weeks today :)

We also got to see the babies again on Thursday. We only were able to get a picture of Molly since Max decided to hide for most of the time behind my bellybutton. All is well with the two of them though and from now on we see the OB every 4 weeks and the MFM Dr. at the hospital every 4 weeks as well so I get to see my little lovies every 2 weeks which make me happy. I love to see how they grow! At the last ultrasound we were able to see Molly opening and closing her little mouth - so cute :)

Vegetarian Babies

I've been meaning to write about this for a while, since it is not a new occurrence, but I think my babies are vegetarians. In the very beginning of the pregnancy I had no problem eating meat of all kinds but towards the middle of my first trimester I definitely developed a strong meat aversion. I can eat shrimp, fish, milk and eggs but that's about it for the animal products. The thought of having some chicken or beef really just disgusts me. It would be like telling me to eat cow's tongue or something, just gross. Even preparing it for others to eat is not so fun. Part of me wonders if I'll crave a hamburger right after delivery or if I'll continue my no-meat diet after? I also wonder if my kids might actually not like it once they are big enough to try it? I guess only time will tell...

22 weeks

And here I am yesterday at 22 weeks!

Yesterday was Mother's Day and I got to spend the morning and afternoon with my mom and sisters. We all went to brunch at the Hyatt which was such a treat and then went home and gave our mom her Mother's Day gift annnddd my super thoughtful sisters also gave me some of the cutest clothes and a little hungry caterpillar toy to celebrate me being a mother-to-be on Mother's Day!

21 weeks

We got to see the babies again at my OBs office and they are both doing great! We will be back at the hospital on May 12th to check on their little hearts and spines and I can't wait to see them again :)

Easter

Yesterday was a big day. Not only was it Easter but... it was my wedding anniversary, my grandmother's birthday, my sister's half birthday, the day after my other sister got engaged and...my half-way point for this pregnancy! Yay I'm officially half-baked, which for me means I'm most likely more than 1/2 way there since twins don't go 40 weeks but I'm so excited for this milestone. Here I am at 20 weeks:

Also we got to see my cousin's baby boy he is such a little cutie and I hope at least one of our kids have some adorable little curls like he does.

Max and Molly

Our babies are no longer its! We found out on Wednesday that we are having one girl and one boy and are over the moon excited about it!

Wednesday was our anatomy scan at the Stamford Hospital Maternal Fetal Medicine unit. My mom joined Shawn and I and it was by far the best ultrasound yet :)

The ultrasound tech started with Baby A taking all the measurements and it was cool because we got to see all the little baby parts as she measured them. When she was done she showed us that Baby A is a girl! I started to cry I was so excited. It was just such a strange and wonderful feeling finally knowing. Then the tech moved on to Baby B taking all the measurements and then when it came time to see if Baby B was a boy or a girl I saw what was on the screen and announced it before the tech even had a chance. It's a boy!

Besides the gender reveals everything looks great with both of them but we do have to go back in about 2 weeks because the Dr. wants to get another look at their hearts and spines since they were too small and not in the best positions to see what they needed. Fine by me - it just means I get to see my little lovies again soon!

So here they are - Baby A is Molly Grace Garan and she weighs about 8oz, Baby B is Max John Garan and he weighs about 9oz:
